It only took us 5-10 minutes to drive to Montmorillon, where we found several restaurants and bars. The hotel itself was nestled down a small lane, surrounded by other beautiful stone houses. Our room was incredibly spacious and tastefully decorated with lovely old furniture. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was also quite large, complete with a nice shower. We appreciated the shutters on the windows, which kept the room cool. One unique feature was the day bed for my daughter, which was conveniently located just through a doorway from our room. The continental breakfast was enjoyable, especially the huge croissants and pain au chocolat. What made our stay even more pleasant was our host, Carol, who was not only lovely but also very helpful. Being an English speaker, she was able to provide us with a wealth of information about the area and things to do.
